Kristi Dorian, Owner & Publisher
Celebrating 23 years with The Aquarian, Kristi’s role started in 1995 as a general “whatever you need” volunteer. Her involvement and passion expanded to encompass office manager, photographer, columnist (Kristi’s Kaleidoscope), proofreader, ad designer and as of January 2012, owner/publisher.
By day Kristi works at Red River College as well as a freelance community ASL-English interpreter. You may also find her walking/hiking with her white German Shepherd Kya, or traveling on road trips and photo journeys across Manitoba.
Susan Hurrell, Editor
Susan started reading The Aquarian back when it was The New Age Connection, and has been written about in, as well as written for The Aquarian over the years. She brings her love of words, her lifelong interest in all things “alt” and her familiarity with the online world to her role as website editor & occasional feature writer. Syd Baumel, Editor
Syd has been a writer, editor and cover designer for The Aquarian since its inception in 1993. He was chief editor of the paper from 1998 to 2006 and again since 2011. An occasional freelance writer since the 1980s, Syd is also the author of Dealing with Depression Naturally (Keats, McGraw-Hill), and the creator of EatKind. He rants and blogs at sydbaumel.blogspot.ca.
Meg Crane, Editor
A freelance writer and editor living a cruelty-free life in the chilly city of Winnipeg, Meg shines the spotlight on people who work selflessly to make the world a safer, more beautiful place. Using words, she turns difficult societal issues into accessible and interesting stories, opening people’s eyes.
Her stories change how readers see their world and inspire them to create change. Meg’s work is so effective, it’s impacted her! Through her eco-feminist zine, Cockroach, she organizes craft parties, workshops and fundraisers to spread love to people and animals in need.
